A gas fireplace may involve a standing pilot or electronic ignition, millivolt controls, a receiver, wall switch, remote, safety sensors, blower and venting system. We identify the appliance and symptoms before recommending parts. Gas type, model compatibility and manufacturer instructions govern every replacement.

System options

Service and equipment options

Not every component is interchangeable. Exact model, gas type and listing information are verified before ordering or installing parts.

01

Cleaning and operational service

Best forSeasonal maintenance, dust, odor or uneven appearance

Includes accessible burner and compartment cleaning, visual inspection, log and ember review, control operation and flame observations within the appliance's service instructions.

02

Pilot and ignition diagnostics

Best forPilot will not light, will not remain on or drops during operation

Evaluates the pilot assembly, thermocouple or thermopile, ignition components, flame contact and control response before parts are recommended.

03

Receiver, remote and switch repair

Best forClicking controls, intermittent response or remote failure

Tests batteries, wiring, switch path, receiver pairing and compatible replacement options. A control click alone does not confirm that the gas valve or pilot circuit is healthy.

04

Vented gas log set

Best forDecorative open fireplaces with a suitable working chimney

Designed to operate with the damper secured open and exhaust through the chimney. Burner size, gas type, fireplace dimensions and venting condition must match the listed set.

05

Vent-free log or firebox equipment

Best forOnly locations where approved and permitted

Uses room air and includes oxygen-depletion safety controls. Installation depends on local rules, room volume, manufacturer clearances and indoor-air considerations.

06

Insert or fireplace replacement planning

Best forObsolete parts, repeated failures or a major efficiency upgrade

Compares repair with a listed replacement system, including venting, gas line, electrical supply, surround and finish requirements.

What to look for

When to stop using the fireplace and schedule service

  • Gas odor, delayed ignition or unusual combustion noise occurs
  • Soot forms on glass, logs or the surrounding fireplace
  • The pilot repeatedly goes out or the unit shuts down
  • Controls are hot, damaged or intermittently responsive
  • The flame pattern changes significantly from normal operation
What the scope can include

A complete written scope

  1. Model, serial number, gas type and vent configuration review
  2. Accessible cleaning and visual component inspection
  3. Pilot, control and switch-path diagnostics
  4. Compatible parts research and written repair options
  5. Operational check after approved service
How the work moves

Our service process

  1. Record the appliance information and reported symptoms
  2. Inspect and clean accessible service areas
  3. Test the ignition and control sequence
  4. Explain repair, part availability and replacement options
  5. Complete approved work and verify normal operation
From selection to final review

A clear project path, with expectations in writing.

01

Inspection & documentation

We inspect accessible conditions, take measurements and document the parts of the system that shape your repair or installation options.

02

System options & written scope

You receive practical material and system choices, a defined scope of work and clear exclusions where hidden conditions may exist.

03

Contract, deposit & scheduling

Once you select your system:

  • We sign a clear, written contract
  • A 30% deposit is collected
  • We schedule your project
04

Installation & progress documentation

We protect the work area, install the approved scope and document important conditions and completed details as the project moves forward.

05

Cleanup & final inspection

We clean the property thoroughly. Most exterior construction sites are approximately 90-99% clean the same day. For qualifying multi-day masonry and exterior projects, our next-day closeout can include:

  • A final inspection
  • An additional magnetic sweep
  • Final drone photos when conditions and location allow
  • A complete quality-control review

Exact payment milestones, closeout steps and return visits are stated in the written contract for the selected project.

Service questions

Details worth understanding.

Final specifications depend on the inspected conditions, appliance listing, selected manufacturer and applicable local requirements.

Why does my fireplace click but not light?+

The click may only confirm that one control is responding. The pilot circuit, thermopile output, valve, wiring, receiver or safety circuit can still prevent ignition, so testing should happen before parts are replaced.

Can any remote be paired with my fireplace?+

No. The receiver, valve system, voltage and control method must be compatible. We identify the installed system before selecting a replacement remote or receiver.
